It is the land where Mozart and Rossini studied, the birthplace of composers and performers who have made the history of opera, from Giuseppe Verdi to Arturo Toscanini.
It combines a constant vitality of world class performances with the teaching of Conservatories and Institutes of Music that appeal to thousands of students from around the world. In the center of this rich musical culture where education and operatic production are combined, Modena is the city of Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Nicolai Ghiaurov and Raina Kabaivanska. Today it is a training ground for hundreds of singers who are able to develop their talent before appearing on the stages of the most prestigious operas. The Luciano Pavarotti Opera is proud to do its part in bolstering excellence in opera production and training.
The Opera regularly provides master classes for opera singers, with internationally renowned teachers and students from all over the world. In 2017 the course was taught by Mirella Freni while in 2019 among its teachers were Mariella Devia, Leone Magiera, Nicola Martinucci and Michele Pertrusi.
