The theatre is located in the historical centre of Modena, famous all over the world for its lyrical tradition. It is the birthplace and adoptive home of some of the greatest singers, such as Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Nicolai Ghiaurov and Raina Kabaivanska.
Modena is located in Emilia Romagna, a region that boasts the highest concentration of Opera Houses in Italy. Giuseppe Verdi was born here and also many other protagonists of the Opera world, such as Arturo Toscanini, Renata Tebaldi and Carlo Bergonzi.
